About This Course
Each year, tens of thousands of forklift-related injuries occur in U.S. workplaces, with many employees injured when lift trucks are inadvertently driven off loading docks, fall between docks, or involve unsecured trailers. Employees are also struck by lift trucks or fall while on elevated pallets and tines, and most incidents result in property damage to overhead sprinklers, racks, pipes, walls, and machinery. Unfortunately, most employee injuries and property damage can be attributed to a lack of safe operating procedures, inadequate safety-rule enforcement, and insufficient or improper training. The IASHEP Forklift “Train-the-Trainer” Refresher Course is a comprehensive two-day program designed to teach participants how to legally establish an in-house forklift training program, focusing on new OSHA training regulations, their impact on your company, and how to comply with current standards. This refresher course is required every three years to maintain the credential.
What You'll Learn
At the end of the course, the trainer or employee will have the tools and knowledge needed to return to work and establish an in-house training program specific to the company’s operations and equipment types while meeting OSHA requirements.
The in-house training program will be designed to align with applicable OSHA standards and regulatory expectations.
Participants must be knowledgeable and experienced with the equipment on which operators will be trained.
