To enroll in this advanced certification course, candidates must meet one of the following prerequisites:
Documented GED / High School Diploma.
Apprentice Certificate of Completion.
Documented On-The-Job or Skills Training.
An Associate's (AA) or Bachelor's (BSc/BA) degree in safety management or a similar field.
Certificates in occupational health and safety from:
OSHA or an authorized OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC)
NEBOSH
National Safety Institute
Military Specialty Ratings (Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force, Space Force, & Reserves, National Guard)
Similar training organizations from other countries will be considered.
The following criteria are also accepted for enrollment:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, or physics from an accredited college or university, OR
A Bachelor’s degree in a closely related biological or physical science from an accredited college or university, OR
Substitution of work experience for formal education: Three (3) years of acceptable work experience may be substituted for each year of an academic degree program. (Example: Twelve years of relevant experience is equivalent to a bachelor's degree.)
